Humanity faces urgent environmental challenges. Climate change and extreme weather events affect us all and demand our attention. As a global leader in weather observation and forecasting, Vaisala has been solving environmental problems for 85 years.
As Vaisala launched Xweather, a suite of services providing real-time and hyperlocal weather and environmental data to predict and solve challenges from lightning-triggered wildfires to weather-related car accidents they turned to 20/20 to create launch films, visual assets and support and documentation of the launch event in San Francisco to tell the story of the Xweather for greater public.

Vaisala launches Xweather, a suite of services providing real-time and hyperlocal weather and environmental data to predict and solve challenges from lightning-triggered wildfires to weather-related car accidents. With advanced machine learning models and intelligent sensors, Xweather helps a broad range of industries and developers with new levels of data accuracy and actionable environmental insight.
From roads to space and back.
The idea was to emphasize the data and hardware that Vaisala provides in a moving way which in the end affects all of our everyday lives. In the film the data was to be present all the time, but in a teasing form without revealing the final context until in the end.
Vaisala Xwether film is a mixture of capturing narrative, visuals from micro level to big picture, data and informational content all wrapped in an inspiring story. It’s a mix of cinematic visuals enforced with documentary style storytelling which brings realism to the film. The idea all along was to tell the Xweather story in an inspiring way that makes an impact on the audience.

Vaisala wanted to inspire and empower everyone to solve the environment, advance humanity, and ensure a better future. On September 28, 2022, we brought together the brightest minds from tech, weather and environment, media, and academia.
We showed how the next evolution in local weather and environmental solutions, powered by the world’s most comprehensive source of accurate data and forecasts, will help us tackle the burning issues of our time together.
